Question for Christian Clergy: Who is responsible for this ignorance?

The Catholic Church has always preached against this sort of heresy, but having the bishops affirming how ridiculous it is every time some kind of psuedo-theologian thinks he has the end-times pinned down is ludicrous. No Catholic that knows his faith would ever fall for something like doomsday prophecy.
