If it is true that it is the spirit of Christ that was in the prophets, how could he not know when the end is?

Jesus doesn't know the "day and hour" because he's not God. (Matt. 24:36) Although Jesus learned from the Father, there are some things the Father has not told even Jesus, which includes the "day and hour." (John 8:28)
